This image represents the fundamental problem with health care: too many people are ill enough to require tertiary healthcare.

The problem cannot be solved by building more buildings and applying more apps.

The problem can be solved by the re-prioritization of the taxes taken from citizens.

The money should be used to improve early access to affordable mental healthcare through psychology services that do not operate on out-of- pocket expenses from the patients.

Early mental health education can directly affect the social determinants of health, including :

Income and social status

employment and working conditions

Education and literacy

childhood experiences

Physical environments

healthy behaviours

Access to health services

Biology and genetic endowment

gender

culture

race/racism

BETTER MENTAL HEALTH = BETTER HEALTH OUTCOMES
